Vote For The Best Christmas Special of All-Time
As Christmas draws near, you’re probably waiting to tune into your favorite holiday TV special. Personally, mine is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Yours, however, could be Elf! Does Clark W. Griswold really outrank Buddy the Elf? Who is quoted more? What we watch while sipping eggnog can be hotly contested debate. Now you have the chance to vote on the best Christmas special of all-time, tournament style with the Christmas Classic Clash.
We all have our favorite Christmas specials. You have that one movie or cartoon that you absolutely cannot miss every year. Plopped in front of the tube, your cookie plate is piled to the top, the eggnog glass is filled to the brim and you’re acting like a kid on Christmas. (Worst pun ever?) The big question: Which is the special to watch? The one Christmas show you’ll quote the ENTIRE month of December? We’ll all argue until we’re blue on which is better, right? You love Rudolph. The Mrs. is Frosty fan. Your neighbor has a real leg lamp in his window. Which is numero uno? Now you’ll have the chance to vote on the best Christmas special of all-time. Time for the Christmas Classic Clash.
We’ll be pitting some of the classics up against each other this year. Eight of the greatest seasonal delights made, going head to head in the Christmas Classic Clash. I asked for your favorites on my Facebook page and have seeded the shows based on your suggestions. While it was painful to leave off such Christmas spectaculars like It’s a Wonderful Life and Die Hard, we have ourselves the cream of the crop here with the top eight thanks to your help. I’m sure none of these will be an easy click for you.
Round One – Specials with the most votes move on to the Christmas Classic Clash Final Four – Or, CCCFF for short. Pronounced SIF.
(1) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964) VS. (8)Frosty the Snowman (1969)
(2) National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989) VS. (7) A Christmas Story (1983)
(3) White Christmas (1954) Vs. (6) Elf (2003)
(4) A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) VS. (5) How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966)
Voting will be open until next Friday, December 13th. Top four will move on! These are TOUGH matchups. Seedings were based on your Facebook suggestions so don’t hate on ol’ Monte. Our very own BJ is probably plotting to hit me with a sack of oranges as we speak just for putting his favorite, A Christmas Story, up against a major awar…err…opponent in Christmas Vacation. Ready? VOTE!
