Crossgates Rolls Out Red Carpet For Lone Survivor Premier – UPDATE
The Regal 18 movie theatre in Crossgates Mall will be rolling out the red carpet for a special early showing of Lone Survivor, a movie based on a Navy Seal mission starring Mark Whalberg.
Lone Survivor, a movie based on a true story about Navy Seal Team 10’s June 28th 2005 mission to capture Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd, will be given a special advanced screening right here Albany tomorrow night.
Crossgates Mall’s Regal 18 will be having a red carpet screening for the movie staring Mark Wahlberg on January 9th thanks to the Danny Dietz Leadership & Training Foundation. The foundation sold tickets with proceeds going to the foundations of the fallen Seals depicted in the film.
Before the screening, a dinner event at Ruby Tuesday will be held. Dinner, raffles and a silent auction will take place from 5:45 PM- 7:45 PM. The movie will then be shown to ticket holders at 8:00, a day before the movie is released to the public.
Tickets to the event are SOLD OUT. Tickets cannot be purchased at the box office to this special screening but if you’re in the mall and you happen to see an extra-large crowd, you’ll be in the know! No word yet on any celebrities being in attendance, but rest assure, X-Jock will be on the scene to get the scoop. Will some of Hollywood’s finest be rubbing elbows with us?
Big Rich and I were given the opportunity to attend the red carpet event thanks to Matthew Luoma of the Danny Dietz Leadership and Training Foundation and local organizer Donna Sullivan. If you’re interested in the foundation, please give their Facebook page a like. We had the pleasure of witnessing the LaSalle ROTC squad escort Mrs. Dietz through Crossgates to the movie theatre. We also were able to meet the author of Danny: The Virtues Within – Jeremy Dunlap. Take a look at the photos from last night’s special moments.
