Star Wars Ep. VII Rumor – Obi-Wan Has a Daughter/Grand Daughter
A recent rumor that came out about the new movies has dropped a pretty big bombshell about Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi. It was only a single line in a news report, but it’s still really big. But how could Obi-Wan have offspring? Jedi don’t do the “Galactic Horizontal Mambo”, right? Wrong, this is not only possible, but here’s how it could’ve happened.
It all starts with more of Kenobi’s back story from before the Clone War. While he was apprentice to Qui-Gon Jinn, they were sent to Mandalore to represent the Republic in the Civil War that had recently started in that star system. Part of that assignment was to also protect the Dutchess Satine Kryze from insurgents that threatened her world. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were on Mandalore for a year protecting Satine, and in an episode of The Clone Wars animated series, which is considered to be canon Star Wars according to Lucas, we discover that Satine was in love with Kenobi. Sadly this was revealed as she was dying, at the hands of Darth Maul in season 5. So during that year on Mandalore, there was the possibility that Satine and Obi-Wan hooked up!
It could be very easy for Satine to have hidden the fact that Obi-Wan had an offspring. Mandalore is in the Outer Rim Territories and the Jedi were not out in those areas very often. After all, Obi-Wan left Satine, because of his commitment to the Jedi order. So it’s very plausible that he could have had a child and never knew about it. The time between his assignment with Qui-Gon on Mandalore and this new rumor would probably mean it would be a grandchild in the new movies based on the time frames were talking about.
So if this does turn out to be a real thing, what are your thoughts about this?
