ESPN just broke the news that 2014 will Derek Jeter’s final season in baseball. The Yankees’ captain posted the announcement on his official Facebook page just moments ago.
With 19 seasons under his belt, Jeter is a five-time World Series champion, has made the All-Star team 13 times, has earned five Gold Gloves, a Rookie of the Year award and is a member of the exclusive 3,000 hit club. There is a chance that if Jeter stays healthy this season, he’ll end up sixth place on the all-time hit list.
