Kevin Richards Lands On His Feet At 100.9 The Cat in Albany
It didn’t take long for one of the areas favorite country radio personalities to find a new home. One week after being let go from WGNA, Kevin Richards has found a home at the rival 100.9 The Cat.
We learned of the shocking news that after 20 years at Albany powerhouse radio station WGNA, that Kevin Richards was let go last week. The reason for that was not specified, and my email to the management at Townsquare media was not returned when I asked if they would comment on the firing.
Now Kevin will be back on the air on WGNA’s Albany rival, WKLI 100.9 The Cat, part of the Albany Broadcasting family of radio stations. Kevin joined the Jake and Dana morning show to make the announcement that #teamkevin would be joining team cat. Kevin will be taking a familiar spot on the air in the 10am – 3pm time slot weekdays on The Cat.
Kevin thanked Jake and Dana as well as the rest of the staff of the Cat for taking him in. He also thanked all of his fans and friends, particularly on Facebook who helped him through this time with a relentless Facebook campaign to get him back on the air.
I can think of nothing more fitting for a moment like this then sharing this particular song. I think Kevin would appreciate it.
