Robert Downey Jr. Will Be In Captain America 3
This is an exciting development in the Marvel cinematic universe. After teasing that he wants to do more with the Iron Man character, it looks like Robert Downey Jr. will be joining the cast of another Avenger.
One of the best story lines that Marvel Comics put out in recent years was the Civil War story. That particular version pit Iron Man against Captain America. Now it looks like that might be the direction that Marvel is taking their movies.
According to Variety, RDJ has joined the cast of Captain America 3, which is due out in 2016. Things just got interesting. This could also mean more for RDJ as the character, which he recently said would he would like to ride it all the way to the end. And who could blame him? So we’ll see him in the next Avengers film, he confirmed a fourth Iron Man in the works, and now he’ll appear in Cap 3.
Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), you have certainly seen tension build between between Cap and Iron Man. Though under Loki’s influence the two nearly came to blows in the first Avengers film. There have been subtle knocks at each other in other films as well.
It will be interesting to see if they take it into full Civil War, or just aspects. Obviously Tony Stark ans Steve Rogers are from two different generations, and I’m willing to bet the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will directly lead to conflict between these two characters now that we know that Tony Stark is responsible for Ultron.
Just get set for all hell to break loose in the MCU.
