DC Planning On Releasing Stand-Alone Batman and Superman Films

DC Comics recently said that they were planning on releasing 10 movies starting with 2016’s “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Warner Brothers just announced that those 10 movies don’t include the upcoming stand-alone Batman and Superman films they are planning.

We know that with the “Batman vs. Superman” film we would be getting a Justice League movie – finally. However, we also thought the 10 unnamed released films would also include a sequel to “Man of Steel” and some sort of incarnation of Ben Affleck’s Batman/Bruce Wayne in a movie on his own.

So technically that means DC comics is going to be releasing 12 films beginning in 2016. It makes us wonder what the other 9 movies will be if they aren’t including Batman and Superman solo projects in that time frame.

Personally, I would love to see something that incorporates the Crisis on Infinite Earths story into it. It was always one of my favorites, but who knows what direction they’ll take it.

My prediction for some of the films would be Justice League (obviously) and then a second Justice League movie down the line. That leaes room for solo pictures for other DC heroes like Wonder Woman (appearing in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice), Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and more. Maybe we’ll even see “Arrow” head to the big screen.

I would love to see something done with Martian Manhunter. He’s such an awesome character. His story line on  a big movie screen would just work so well.

All we can hope is that DC has a plan, and not just delusions of grandeur.

Right now they have two pretty good shows with “Arrow” and “The Flash.” In my opinion, “Gotham” is a big fat turd.
