Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Delivering Meals On Wheels In Albany Area
Have you spotted the famed Oscar Mayer Wienermobile in the Capital Region lately? With images of the hot dog-shaped car appearing all over social media this week, I had to know where I could snap a photo with my dream ride! According to reports, the Wienermobile is in town ALL WEEK! Here for a great cause, the car will be helping to deliver Meals on Wheels and making appearances in our area.
While driving earlier this week, I saw a giant hot dog driving down Route 4 in East Greenbush. Quite the attention grabber, it was easy to recognize the 27-foot hot dog on top of the car as being the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!
According to the Times Union, the Wienermobile is here for a wonderful cause – helping Senior Services of Albany’s Meals on Wheels program. The elderly that cannot make it out of their residences have meals delivered to them, and the Wienermobile stepped up to join in. Not here to just deliver meals, the Wienermobile will be at various food drives around Albany.
Thursday, October 30th from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the VA Medical Center.
Saturday, November 1st from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery for the 5K run.
Saturday, November 1st from 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the Voorheesville High School for the 5K run.
Sunday, November 2nd from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Shop Rite on Central Ave., where a food donation gets you a Wiener Whistle.
Kudos to the Wienermobile for helping out seniors here around Albany. If you attend the drive, you’ll be lending a helping hand and you can live out my dream of seeing the Wienermobile up close and personal. If you snap a photo with the car, share it on our Facebook page!
