‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Big Dates To Remember

Yesterday we got the title of the new Star Wars movie dropped on us – The Force Awakens. Now that principal photography has wrapped up on this movie we’re all wondering when we’ll get to see a trailer for this long anticipated continuation of the original trilogy.

While catching up with one of my favorite geek YouTube channels, Emergency Awesome (if you don’t watch Charlie and his videos you should, he’s great), I got some really good information about when we can expect a trailer for “The Force Awakens.”

Principal photography just finished on that (check out the latest Geek Show for more on Star Wars), so there is still an awful lot to do before we get our hands on a trailer. But with that said, here are some dates to keep in mind:

  • John Williams is recording music specifically for the trailer on November 15, 2014
  • December 18, 2015 is the release date for the new film, so we could see a teaser somewhere around the week of Christmas (December 18th-23rd)
  • Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA April 16, 2015. Disney could throw us a bone here with some sort of footage.

My theory is that we’ll get to see some sort of trailer when “Avengers: Age of Ultron” comes out in May 2015. Lucas Film and Marvel are both owned by Disney. Both movies are huge, and with the tie in with fans we are sure to get something for it there.
