Buffalo Bills Pay Fans Money and Tickets To Shovel Out Stadium
With up to six feet of snow falling in the area, the Buffalo Bills are in a tough spot when it comes to their game against the New York Jets this Sunday. A smidge of snow is currently covering Ralph Wilson Stadium and the Bills are seeking help clearing the powder in order for the game to be played. For payment, the team is offering $10 per hour AND game tickets. Got a shovel?! The catch? There is 220,000 tons of snow. Tons.
Earlier this week, a massive snow storm hit the Buffalo area, dropping enough snow to close the Thruway. Everyone felt the impact, including the NFL. The Buffalo Bills have a home game scheduled against the New York Jets this Sunday at 1:00 PM. However, currently the field looks like this:
Fans can’t pull into the parking lot, take their seat and the players can’t hit the field if this much snow remains in the stadium. How do the Bills plan to make kickoff? You. The team is reaching out to you, asking for shovelers! Your payment will be $10.00 per hour and game tickets.
What’s the catch? Money, free football – perhaps a huge game of King of the Mountain? Well – there is 220,000 tons of snow that needs to be removed. Tons. How big is your shovel…
If this were the Detroit Lions, you know I’d be there. My friend Joe and I attended the Lions and Eagles Snow Bowl. The Jets, though? The 2-8 Jets are a tough sell, even if this game was free. If I lived in Buffalo and were a Bills fan, you’d bet I’d roll down to the ‘Ralph and catch some free NFL action, though. Two hours of shoveling at $10 per hour = 3/4 of a beer, too. What about you – if you’re a Bills or Jets fan here around the Albany area, or just a fan of the NFL, are you going to lend a hand to see the game on the cheap?
