Could Doctor Strange Appear in ‘Avengers 2: Age of Ultron?’
You have to love all the rumors surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just a few short weeks after announcing that Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing Doctor Strange, could we see him in this spring’s “Avengers 2: Age of Ulton?”
As rumors go, there isn’t much to go on here. If Cumberbatch does pop up in “Avengers 2” it might possibly just be a quick cameo where he is just a regular doctor. That’s according to ComicBook.com. The casting announcement makes sense in terms of the “Age of Ultron” reshoots that will take place in January. If there is an opportunity to throw him in, that’s where they will do it.
The problem I see with this potential rumor is that in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” Agent Sitwell says that they are fully aware of people with special powers like Stephen Strange. So unless it is some sort of flashback, I’m not sure if that works in the current continuity.
Another possible scenario is that Strange already does possess his powers, but has not yet come out as a person with abilities.
Like I said, just rumors right now. We’ll have to wait until May when “Avengers 2: Age of Ultron” hits theaters.
