BJ and Rich are back with a recap of the winter finales of The Flash and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as a look at some more news from Marvel and DC, plus a look at the new Star Wars movie character movie names.
We jumped into the Marvel news first with the official confirmation that Benedict Cumberbatch is cast as the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange. A lot of what was floating around was not really official as Marvel hadn’t come right out and said it, but neither denied that it was true. I guess they were waiting for the right time. But still, we talked a little about how he would be introduced, and some other casting speculation for the movie. We also talked about the new directors for the Avengers 3 movie, The Russo Brothers, and what they bring to the table. From there we touched on Krysten Ritter and her casting as Jessica Jones.
We moved over to DC news and talked about Jason Mamoa playing Aquaman. We both agree that he’s a good choice and he’s got the chops to play the more grittier version of Aquaman from the New 52 series of DC. He’s been Conan and Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, as well as in Stargate: Atlantis. He’s definitely got the chops to do this part. This may be one of the only things that DC is doing that BJ and I are pretty stoked for.
Now we then get to the real meat of the show. Reverse Flash making his appearance on The Flash TV show. Now this was one of the plot points BJ and myself have been looking at since the start of the show, as Reverse Flash is the one who killed Barry’s mom and framed his dad. And the rumors as to who the Reverse Flash was, were running all over the place. BJ and I think we have narrowed it down based on the winter finale. Who is it? You should listen to find out. But we also both agreed, that this episode of the Flash was by and large the best episode.
We then got into S.H.I.E.L.D and BJ and I were both happy with how things ended here. We finally got some answers to what Skye’s name really is. Did you get all the subtle hints that were dropped before the big reveal? As soon as her Dad started humming, I thought it was either an ‘homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey, or a velvet hammer to the head telling us her name. But the lead up to ending of the show, which was really good except for one thing, was awesome. The one thing? You’ll have to listen to find out.
See what I did there? ’nuff said…
