Sony Say Spider-Man Avengers Rumor is False. And Sony is Still A Dick

Did you hear about the rumor that was going around the last couple days saying that Sony and Marvel had finally worked out a deal to get Spider-Man in the new Avengers: Infinity War movies? Well Sony just said it was a false rumor. In other news, Sony is still a dick company.

imageAfter the hack on Sony, which they did kind of deserve, the emails released said there was negotiations to get the web head back home to Marvel, but it all fell through and everything went back to square one.

Then we hear about a new rumor that they were back at the table talking, and hammered out an agreement. Geeks all over rejoiced even though the rumor was still unconfirmed. I have to admit, I was a little giddy at the thought that this could be true. Alas, it is not to be true believers

Comic Book Resource has contacted Sony and a rep says it wasn’t true. And Disney hasn’t said anything since they were contacted either. Could this mean that Sony is playing coy to not hurt negotiations? I doubt it. Their track record makes me think they are just a bunch of dicks, and are still trying to play the heavy to get a deal that they want. Which is their perogitive, but don’t change the fact they are considered by many to be money grabbing and have no clue how to treat the web slinger. So for the time being, he’s in movie rights hell.
