Route 7 in Latham Lands a Sonic Drive-In
The Capital Region’s first ever Sonic Drive-In now has a location! The fast food chain has been rumored to hit the Albany area for almost a year. Latham was pegged to sport the eatery but an actual address hadn’t been given – until today. See where Sonic is going to open up this Spring.
Sonic is about to land in Latham! The 3,500+ drive-in fast food chain is going to be built on Route 7. The address is 701 Troy-Schenectady Road, formerly Kings Buffet.
The closest Sonic to Albany is most likely in Wappingers Falls – over an hour South. The new location should bring plenty of buzz here. Unlike current, local fast food eateries, Sonic has a variety of hot dogs, ice cream sundaes, French toast sticks, chili cheese fries and tots to name a few. Who doesn’t love tots?
My explanation can’t do the full menu justice. Take a look at those hot dogs. I can’t wait to down a foot-long, quarter pound weighing, chili-covered, cheese-havin’, Coney dog.
Slushies. They have SLUSHIES!
According to the Times Union, the Latham location is going to have a Drive-in parking lot and orders will be delivered to parked cars. Food being delivered to me? Is it Spring yet? I’ve already made up my mind – here will be my very first order when Sonic opens on Route 7 in Latham:
1 Coney dog.
1 order boneless BBQ wings
1 order of Cheese Tots
1 Snickers ice cream with waffle cone!
What will your first order be?
