Star Wars Rebels: Fire Across The Galaxy Season 1 Finale Recap
If you haven’t seen the season 1 finale of Star Wars Rebels, Fire Across The Galaxy, then be warned, this post contains spoilers, and you will will most likely want to avoid it. You have been warned!
Well, I do have to say the trailer did justice to the episode as it was suspenseful and full of action. Though the build up to the rescue of Kanan was a little slow to me, the rescue itself was great. And the death of the Inquisitor was not what I was expecting. Falling to his death seemed liked something not in his nature. And that Kanan has overcome his fear of loss of Ezra, has made him a stronger willed and better Jedi.
The battle and chase near the end was also pretty awesome too. Seeing all those blockade runners fly cover made me feel like it was something out of A New Hope. The best way I can describe it, is that it felt like the Star Wars I remember as a kid. The story is obviously moving more to what an adult would enjoy as well as the teens it’s geared for.
I was also expecting the revel of Fulcrum, which as the rumors guessed was Ahsoka Tano, to be earlier in the episode and we would get to see her take on the Inquisitor. But I’m glad they have finally started to tie up her story. That and Bail Organa revealing to our crew that they are but one cell in a bigger rebellion, which will not change the pace of the stories going into the next season.
Another question I would like to know now is, with the reveal that Vader is the Inquisitor’s replacement on Lothal for now, will we see Master and Padawan face off? Will Ahsoka face Vader? That is a question I will be looking for an answer to come season 2. Dave Filoni and the rest of the people at LucasFilm and Disney have lived up to what I expect from a Star Wars adventure. Bravo to you all!
In the meantime, let us know what you thought and are looking forward to with season 2 in the comments.
May The Force Be With You.
