Van Halen Announces A North American Tour With A Date Not Far From Albany

David Lee Roth and the Van Halen boys will be on the road this summer with a North American tour. They’ll be starting in Seattle, WA and criss crossing all over the country, with a stop not too far from Albany, N.Y.

Van_Halen_Australia_2013They’ll be in Bethel, N.Y. on September 6th at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. This is their second tour since Diamond David Lee Roth signed back on as the frontman. Also, Eddie’s son Wolfgang is still playing bass as former bass player Michael Anthony, is still not on speaking terms with Eddie and Alex Van Halen. I’ve heard from some that the last tour was not all it was cracked up to be. David was off key and couldn’t hit the higher notes anymore.

I saw Van Halen in 2004 when I lived in Rapid City, S.D. while I was working at KQRQ, Q92.3. It was a great show and great seats, but Sammy was the front man, and Anthony was still playing bass. It was a different show then what you would see with David. Plus a studio album can sound way better then a live show since you can play with the quality of the recordings.

But I would still go just to say I saw them live. And as long as Dave can sound decent, I’m not bothered if he can’t get the higher notes. What do you think?

And here is the current tour dates for the show.
