Marvel Pursuing Ryan Phillipe For Netflix Role
Ryan Phillipe is probably most known for his roles in late 90’s films like “Cruel Intentions” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” He’s made a bit of a comeback with his role on ABC’s “Secrets and Lies” and it looks like Marvel has taken notice.
According to Comic Book Resources, Phillipe made the announcement while making an appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
Phillipe said this:
“I’m meeting with — Marvel is interested in talking about, like Netflix, a series, possibly — the ‘Daredevil’ series is great,”
So that of course has us wondering exactly which role they are considering him for. There is a lot of speculation that he could play Iron Fist, who is a bit of a blond playboy in the comics. Phillipe would certainly be able to fit that description, and if you have noticed on “Secrets and Lies”, dude is looking jacked. So Squeezing into that superhero costume would not be a problem.
There’s also a rumor that Netflix is in talks about bringing the Punisher to Netflix. While I can’t see Phillipe in that role, I can’t say that he might not be considered.
