This recut of footage from the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy and the prequels reveals that Obi-Wan wasn’t telling Luke Skywalker the whole truth. 

As he’s telling Luke about the history of the Jedi, his father, Anakin, and other tidbits about the Clone Wars, flashes of his past show us that it is actually pretty sad. That’s something that we never really got out of the original trilogy.

However going back and watching the prequels shows the tragedy behind Obi-Wan’s “truth.” He lost many friends. And this edited clip nails it.
