Christmas Time – What Credit Cards Are Worth It?
It’s that time of year. You’re out shopping for those perfect Christmas gifts. You’re in a hurry going from store to store. You probably dismiss those offers from associates inviting you to apply for a store credit card. Are you making the right decision? Credit.com has profiled five credit cards that may be worth the extra hassle at the register to apply for.
Albany Stations Switch To All Christmas Music
It’s no secret that I love everything about Christmas. It’s often frustrating when we skip right from Halloween to Christmas though. What happened to being thankful on Thanksgiving? At my retail job I walked in on November 1 and we had started Christmas music in our rotation. I was in Heaven! I am singing along to all of the songs I haven’t heard in a year, and often getting some strange looks from both co-workers and customers – but who cares? I’m in the holiday spirit!
Stores May Face A Fine If They Don’t Open on Thanksgiving
Many stores have faced a backlash for saying they will be opening on Thanksgiving Day to accommodate those Black Friday shoppers. Now, one group that owns quite a few malls, including Crossgates and Crossgates Commons, says it may fine stores that do not open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
No Kiss At Weekend Duggar Wedding
Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to one of America’s largest families. Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald became man and wife on Saturday in front of an estimated 1,000 people. The one thing they did not do to seal their man and wife status – is share a first kiss!
Is Your Favorite Fall TV Show Headed For The Chopping Block?
The first casualty of the fall TV season is Manhattan Love Story, the show that allows you to hear the inner thoughts of a young dating couple. The show on ABC has been canceled after only four episodes. It’s no surprise as Manhattan Love Story didn’t get much traction and was on immediately following another new show. So what other shows may be following in the footsteps of Manhattan Love Story?
Thanksgiving – Not A Holiday Anymore?
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. When I think about Thanksgiving my stomach starts to growl. I love the turkey, the stuffing is my favorite, and my mom’s homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. Not to mention the corn pudding that I make every year. Just writing this I am anticipating the food and the time with my family. However – I work retail as my part-time job. What does that mean? I have a limited amount of time with my family on Thanksgiving. Why? Because the store I work at is opening at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening to start it’s Black Friday run. So I will have to be in at 5 p.m. to work.
9 Things Banned in the Duggar Family
If you follow along with one of America’s largest families, the Duggars, on 19 Kids and Counting you’ll know that there are certain things that are a no-no when you are a part of the family.
Have You Heard About The Teal Pumpkins?
If you were a kid like me you bounded from house to house on Halloween trying to see how much candy you could collect before either your parents made you go home because it was too cold or it got too late. What if you’re a kid with a food allergy? Halloween isn’t quite as fun. Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies. That affects 1 in every 13 children in the U.S. It’s a potentially deadly disease, especially on Halloween. But all of that could be changed with the teal pumpkin!
Capital Region Cities – Most Dangerous in State?
I came across a survey this week of the most dangerous cities in New York State. Not to my surprise three local cities are on that list – Albany, Schenectady, and Gloversville.

Ok so yes traveling with children can be a nightmare – for both the parents of the child and sometimes the other passengers. But what could cause the flight crew on one flight to call the police on a young family with a 2-year-old that was having a meltdown?
